Fadi Islim received his bachelor's degree in Nursing from the Applied Science University, Jordan in 2002. He received his MSN in Nursing Informatics in 2015, and his Doctorate in Nursing in 2018 to help support clinicians and nurse leaders in translating evidence into practice across the continuum and influencing healthcare change and policies at all levels.
Fadi joined the University of Michigan Health System in 2006 as part of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit. In 2012, he joined the HITS department as a Clinical business analyst for MiChart. During his period with HITS, he was active in projects used for Inpatient Clinical Documentation, Summary reports, Charge Capture, Data Capture, specialty teams such as SWAT, CRRT, and ECMO. In 2015, he joined the Nursing Informatics Department as a Senior Informatics Analysts focusing on documentation enhancement, initiating the Superusers Program, initiating the Clinical Intelligence Committee, among other big projects. Most of Fadi’s interest was focused on Predictive Analytics and hoping to initiate the use of machine learning models in the inpatient setting.
In February, 2019 Fadi took on a new challenge by accepting a new position with the Michigan Dialysis Services (MDS). He helped open a new Adult Dialysis clinic that holds all three modalities between Hemodialysis and Home Therapies in Canton, MI. He was involved in all phases of the creation of the clinic: from working with the contractors, including all stages of construction as well as the interior design. Fadi is the Clinical Nursing Director for MDS Canton.
