Elyas Sabeti is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Michigan Institute for Data Science (MIDAS), University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Before joining MIDAS, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Computational Medicine and Bioinformatics, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He earned his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in December 2017, while working on development of data mining methods for Big Data using information theory and machine learning. He also earned his M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, 2012.
Elyas Sabeti's primary focus is on developing foundational theory and methodology for data science using information theory, machine learning and signal processing. More specifically, his data science research aims to develop theory and algorithms for analysis of medical Big Data using Data In Motion with applications in Digital Health.
