Christopher Fung, MD
Dr. Fung is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Emergency Critical Care in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Michigan. He earned his undergraduate degree at the University of California Berkeley in 2004 and his M.D. at the University of Pittsburgh in 2012. During his medical school training, he graduated from the Physician Scientist Training Program and also completed a Howard Hughes Medical Institute research fellowship. He then completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at the University of Michigan in 2016. During residency training, he also completed a specialized professional and clinical development track in Emergency Ultrasound. Following residency, Dr. Fung completed a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at the University of Michigan in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. He has served in the Department of Emergency Medicine within both the Critical Care and Clinical Ultrasound faculty groups since 2018. Dr. Fung is currently a scholar in the Weil Institute K12 Career Development program in Emergency Critical Care research. His major areas of research interest are the development of novel point-of-care ultrasound technologies and applications, emergency management of acute heart failure, and the development of noninvasive technologies for the monitoring of critically ill patients. His clinical interests include heart failure, sepsis, resuscitation and emergency ultrasound.
