Celebrate 10 years of NCRC Aug. 22

Ten years ago this summer, what we now know as the North Campus Research Complex was born, when U-M took ownership of a vacant former pharmaceutical research campus in the northeast part of Ann Arbor.

Over the past decade, it’s been transformed it into a hub for innovative research and clinical activity. More than 3,500 faculty and staff now work there.

On August 22, the entire U-M community can help celebrate the 10th anniversary of NCRC with special events and tours. Find full details at https://ncrc.umich.edu/NCRC10year.

The day begins with a group photo for anyone who works at NCRC, at 11:00 a.m. in front of Building 18.

Bring a lunch to the Research Auditorium in Building 10 any time between 12 and 1:30 to learn about NCRC-based research and other topics, through short talks given by scientists and others.

Take an “NCRSee” self-guided tour anytime between 1:30 and 3:30, using maps that will be available at the main entrances of Buildings 16, 18, 32 and 520. Choose to visit more than a dozen spots on both sides of Huron Parkway, to explore what NCRC has become and what’s yet to come. 

Celebrate the anniversary at a reception in the Dining Hall in Building 18 at 3:30, with remarks at 4 p.m. by Drs. Marschall Runge, Steven Kunkel and David Canter, followed by refreshments until 5:30.
